Lee joined Temporary Accommodations, now Sedgwick’s temporary housing division, in 2004 as our Housewares Division Manager and has been a champion of our message since day one. He graduated from New York College at Plattsburgh with his B.A. Communications and Media Studies. He spent eight years representing National Patient Care Systems/MEDIQ as a vendor to hospitals and nursing homes. When Lee took over our housewares division he managed our internal stockroom of kitchen wares and housewares, scheduled and organized delivery of thousands of housewares packages, and met face to face with thousands of families that had been displaced by a disaster. The spirit of our service is highly dependent on selflessly serving others. Lee is a constant example of this spirit, and his selflessness in serving others is evident in how he treats people both inside and outside our company. As the Human Resources Coordinator, Lee schedules and leads new colleague training. He manages our employee benefits packages and leads recruitment campaigns while ensuring new hires adjust well to our fast-paced work environment. Sedgwick has truly evolved into a second family for our employees largely due to Lee’s efforts in building community. No matter how large we grow, every birthday and anniversary is celebrated. As our Office Manager, Lee ensures office safety by training employees on disaster and evacuation procedures. Because we work in the disaster response industry, it is extremely important our staff is knowledgeable of best response practices. Our team is trained in-depth on how to respond to fire, tornado, and earthquake disasters, as well as bomb threats and active shooters. TA Cares was started as an effort to give back to our community through additional ways beyond housing placement. Temporary Accommodations, now Sedgwick’s temporary housing division, is a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity and Atlanta’s Jerusalem House. We lead our own TA Care Bear initiative, and participate in annual fundraisers for mentally, chronically, or terminally ill children. TA employees regularly hold food drives and serve the homeless in Atlanta at local shelters. Our mission of making a house a home for those less fortunate than us extends far beyond the policyholders we work with on a daily basis. Lee is consistently our top fundraiser and team leader through these efforts.
I Believe In: Good food / Good Wine / Good Friends
I am Inspired By: People who love life. My sister who battled cancer for 6 years and kept working and volunteering until just weeks before her passing
When I am not Working: I’m in the yard. I help the neighbors with their landscaping and also maintain the neighborhood entry island. Rainy days are for reading or watching sci-fi/fantasy books/shows/movies. And during the Christmas season, I relentlessly hound my friends into donating to my charity fundraising.
